Helping Others

Food, Utility & Other Help

SSP St. Vicent de Paul Society

St. Patrick Center – Chili Preparation: Different parishioners make a batch of chili for the clients of St. Patrick Center once every three months. They then bring the frozen chili to the rectory on the designated weekend. Containers for the chili are provided. Other parishioners deliver the chili to St. Patrick Center. Parishioners may volunteer to cook more often if they wish. Please call the parish office at 481-1133 for more information.

Sts. Peter & Paul – Lunch Program: Parishioners serve the noontime meal for the homeless and low-income people at the shelter at Sts. Peter and Paul Church Hall on the first Saturday after the 11th of every month. Other parishioners provide the food that is served. Please call the parish office at 481-1133 for more information.

South Grand Senior Ministry: Volunteers are needed to drive seniors to the doctor, train as Stephen Ministers, help with yard maintenance, label newsletter mailings, plan outings and provide support for seniors who need it. Every talent is needed and appreciated. For more information, contact Leigh Manalang, MSW, at 314-481-1133 ext. 307 or leighsgsm@gmail.com.

Church Nursery Program: There are loving church members available to watch your active toddlers and preschoolers during the 10:30 AM Mass on Sundays. If you would like some peaceful prayer time, please come to the SSP nursery program located in the rectory basement. The basement can be reached from the alley door at the west transept of the church. A parent volunteer watches 1 – 4 year olds during the hour of Mass. There are many age-appropriate toys and books for the children. We also play Bible and nursery rhyme music and enjoy a light snack. It is a fun time for these small children of our parish to meet and play together! Call Leigh Manalang at 481-1133 for more information or to volunteer your time in this ministry.
