Every parish in the Archdiocese of St. Louis will be participating in the archdiocesan-wide Disciple Maker Index (DMI) Survey between Ash Wednesday, March 2, and April 4, 2022. This nationally recognized survey has been administered at parishes around the United States and Canada since 2013. The results from the survey will not only be used for information and planning for parishes but will also be included in the national results which track trends, growth, and Church-related opportunities nationwide.
About the Disciple Maker Index
The Disciple Maker Index was developed by Catholic Leadership Institute in 2013 with the guidance and input of bishops and priests nationwide and the expertise of professional survey teams. It is statistically sound while at the same time focusing on important aspects of our Catholic Faith.
The DMI is an anonymous survey of parishioners that provides insights into the level of missionary discipleship in the parish in addition to the effectiveness of the Mass experience, preaching and other aspects of parish life.
The data results are visualized for parish and archdiocesan views and include benchmark information based on all parishes in the national database. The benchmark of parishes of similar size or in similar environments provides a national perspective to local results. The survey and results were designed so that parishes can repeat the Disciple Maker Index every two to three years to see changes over time through longitudinal data comparison.
Survey results will give the archdiocese a clear picture of the needs of the local church. The DMI survey is expected to be a driving force in deciding what will happen within the archdiocese.
The DMI can be taken online or as a paper survey. The DMI is a web-based survey that is accessible through an online link from our parish between March 2 and April 4, 2022. Each parish has a unique link that will be shared closer to the launch of the survey. The survey takes between 10-15 minutes to complete. The survey can be completed on a computer or via a mobile device such as a cell phone or tablet. A paper version of the survey is also available to download in more than 10 languages.
The DMI will also be accessible through the All Things New website. A dropdown parish selection menu will allow you to select your parish which will connect you to the unique parish link.
Note that this survey will only be active during March 2 and April 4, 2022. As soon as the link is available, I will share it with you via flocknote, the parish website, and the parish facebook page. Anyone wishing a paper survey please call me at the rectory office (314-481-1133) and we will get one to you.
If you have any questions please contact one of the Key Parish Leaders (Gary Stoff, Christy Biundo, Leigh Manalang, Brooks Goedeker, Andrew Rettig), Fr. Ron, or myself.
