Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday, and welcome to the weekend! What a week, last week I referenced the calm before the storm, it transpired literally and figuratively this week. The ice early Monday morning brought us an inclement weather day to start our week. FLU shortened my week. This is the first time in decades I did not roll up my sleeve for the flu shot, and I regret that decision in hindsight. There were many SSP STARs this week to pick up the slack: June Tessin for choreographing everything for the Open House, the onset of registration, and plugging holes for duty where needed. She is an All-Word superstar. Stephanie Wobbe worked her usual mini miracles in encapsulating all the upcoming activities in print and sharing them through social media! Christy Biundo worked side-by-side with the PTO to ensure that CSW ’24 is memorable! There were holes to plug, and Mary Ann Buschmann, Nancy Anglo, and Carol Anne Lorenz all had vital rules this week! I know these folks would’ve stepped up if I were present this week, but it was even more meaningful since I wasn't.
Speaking of stars, here is some useless trivia… do you know how long a Full Moon lasts? To the naked eye, it lasts up to three days. In reality, for only a mere instance, however, the effects of a full moon last much longer! We are in that window at the end of this week. I want to take a moment to thank our staff and volunteers who will make this year’s Open House successful. I know we will brag about you in next week’s edition of the SSP STARs! We have one more STAR this week! An anonymous sixth-grade student sent every first-grade student a note letting them know they were special and gave each one a sucker! Like the full moon, the effects of her brief act of kindness should have a lingering effect!
See you this Sunday and next week as we celebrate the gift of Catholic Education. Thank you for your continued support of our great school. We appreciate you!
