Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday, and welcome to the weekend! I am sending these Notes remotely. I was fighting a cold for the second half of this week. I am not proud to say I did not emerge victorious. I am personifying a newer policy: stay home if you are truly sick! That said, Fr. Aaron and I had a conversation yesterday concerning colds, an uptick of COVID in our community, and sharing the cup at Mass. As we advertised before we began offering our Lord's body and blood at All School Masses, this is a family decision. We will not make that decision for your family. No one will ever be forced to or discouraged from receiving the Eucharist under both species.
June Tessin passed along a helpful note at the close of business yesterday worth repeating:
Reminder! Noon Dismissal on Thursday, October 26, 2023
We will have a noon dismissal on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Extended care is available that afternoon, but reservations are required so we know how many students to expect. If you plan on using extended care that day, please register here.
Lunch Charges - October 5 & 6
We will not be processing lunch charges for October 5 or 6 lunch orders. Our Cafeteria Manager, Sarah, is out and there will be a replacement in her absence. The replacement is unfamiliar with FACTS, so Sarah asked us to wait for her return to process the lunches. Lunch charges for yesterday, October 4, were processed early this morning.
The Sheldon Permission Slips - Due October 11
Just a reminder for our 5th-8th grade parents to return the permission slip for your child to attend The Sheldon on Wednesday, October 18.
That’s it for now; I have a box of tissues and a warm blanket calling my name. Have a great weekend, and stay well!
God’s Peace,
Greg Sturgill
