Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday! Welcome to the weekend. We have a brief next week, including one of our favorite days of the school year, GRANDPARENTS Day! Thank you in advance to the PTO for all their efforts to make this a memorable day. If you have not RSVPed yet, please make it a priority today. An accurate count is important for seating setup and ordering breakfast treats. Please RSVP and provide permission (if applicable) for your student(s) to leave school with their grandparents at the end of the festivities. Students may come directly to the GYM with their grandparents in the morning (this helps with reunification efforts). Students will not need lunch boxes or bookbags on Tuesday. All students who are not leaving with grandparents will be dismissed at noon. We will not be providing After Care this day.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024, their parents, Dr. David Borgmeyer, and Mrs. Bridgette Fyvie, for an awesome play. Opening Night was a major success. You have two more chances if you have not seen it: tonight at 7 pm and Saturday at 2 pm.
We will not publish the Friday Notes next week. We posted seven days of information in the Week in Preview column! Of course, we will pass along all timely information via FACTS before the next edition on December 1st.
Finally, we released the SSP Board of Education Strategic Plan today. We sent home a physical handout with your oldest/only student. You can find the complete plan at sspstl.org/school-strategic-plan.
Thank you to the BOE Ad Hoc Committee for the endless hours dedicated to this important endeavor. We have a request: after reading and reflecting on this strategic plan, please share your thoughts, concerns, or dissatisfaction with Fr. Nord, Mr. Sturgill, or any member of the Ad Hoc Committee. Social media is not the ideal instrument to share your concerns. Your feedback will give the subcommittees action items to address as we flesh out this important plan. Even though I’ve been in this process since day one, I have “aha” or “now I see why” moments each time I reread for clarity.
Thank you in advance for helping us secure the future of this awesome Catholic school. We never take for granted the tremendous sacrifices families make to provide Catholic education for their children. Know that you are constantly in my prayers. Please say a prayer for me and this fine staff of educators as we continue to toil in the vineyards, bringing quality education through the light of our faith for years to come!
