Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday. We hope you have a wonderful weekend planned leading up to Valentine’s Day on Monday.
I know there have been a couple of letters sent out recently outside these Friday Notes. We don’t like to lump important information that can be overlooked in a data overload. Mrs. Regan sent out a letter for 7th and 8th parents in regards to Confirmation. Confirmation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 23. I sent a note out on behalf of Mrs. Anglo yesterday in regards to Mission Carnival, which will take place on Mardi Gras (Tuesday, March 1). Please direct all questions about Confirmation to Mrs. Regan and Mission Carnival to Mrs. Anglo.
After much anticipation, the 8th Grade play is among us available for online viewing tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday afternoon. You can still buy tickets and raffle chances at: www.saintstephenstl.org/8th-grade-play. There are too many people to thank properly, but hats off to everyone who worked so very hard to make this production a reality.
We are still rescheduling events from the shortened Catholic Schools Week. We will have what has been coined “career day” or the opportunity for students to dress up for work, or what they might be in their near future profession. I know some students are looking forward to that and they will have that day next Friday. Monday is a Valentine uniform add-on. The only thing static on Monday is the uniform bottom. Students may wear Valentine-themed or colored tops, socks, accessories, etc. Preschool parties will take place in the morning; Kindergarten – Grade 5 celebrations will take place at 2PM.
Finally, we will have a St. Vincent DePaul Food Drive next Thursday. Students who participate in the drive will have the opportunity to dress out of uniform. The gentleman who normally picks up and delivers our food drive items is Jim Liermann. Mr. Liermann has had a bout of bad luck healthwise this week. He’s currently in surgery. Please keep Mr. Liermann in your thoughts and prayers this weekend.
May all that we do be done with great love, for it is written in 1 Corinthians 13:13 that the greatest of these (faith, hope, and love) is LOVE. Happy early Valentine’s Day to you and your loved ones!
