Dear Parents, Teachers, and Friends of SSP School,
Happy Autumn, Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend.
What a week! Last days of summer, first days of fall, a Harvest Moon, standardized testing… it was enough to keep us all on our toes. While we did not publish an SSP Star this week we have two very worthy ‘adult’ candidates: Mr. Patrick Holley and Mrs. Carol Marinaro. Both plugged holes this week and kept our ship afloat during moments of need… thank you to both of you superstars.
Thank you also to our teachers and staff for their flexibility all week. Standardized testing week is not for the faint of heart, and our staff performed with distinction. Thank you also to our all-world administrative assistant, Mrs. Quinn, who we could nominate for SSP Star on a weekly basis. Her hard work and attention to detail make all of our jobs manageable. SSP parents and students are in good hands with all these hardworking and dedicated professionals.
I debated briefly whether I should send a note to all parents in regards to the number of police and emergency vehicles on Wilmington Avenue this morning. Based on parental feedback, it was the right decision. My apologies for the Dear Presence salutation… tired eyes, Spell check and I need to have a heart-to-heart conversation.
We included an updated Covid protocol on page 2 of the Notes. This was included because there has been an uptick in breakthrough Covid infections among vaccinated people in our community. Mrs. Quinn and our BJC liaison nurse produced a blurb that was easier to follow. Hopefully, this proves helpful.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the PTO Outdoor movie night tonight. 7th and 8th-grade volunteers should check-in at the concession stand by 7 PM, and the movie starts at 7:30.
Have a great weekend and God’s peace.
