Dear parents, teachers, parishioners, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday, and welcome to what may be a wet weekend! We are knocking on October’s door. We have been busy at school and church for the last several weeks, but if you look at the first page (second column) of the NOTES, we have a plethora of activities, fundraisers, and “fun” raisers scheduled during the next 31 days.
The first window of standardized testing is over. The Safe Touch program has been completed. The homeroom teachers and counselors have begun the introductory lesson of our social-emotional learning curriculum. A public tip of the hat to Fr. Aaron, who made the financing of Friendzy possible. Over time, our SEL efforts will take root in our hearts, become second nature, and assist us in making disciples. In the interim, we need your help. We have some younger students whose first reaction is to solve conflict with physicality. Thank you for supporting us in minimizing these occasions and reinforcing messages and behaviors at home. Please don’t underestimate your clout in your children's lives as their first and primary educator. Thank you.
We celebrated our many volunteers and students, who made a difference in small and sometimes near-invisible gestures. Parents, we encourage you to find ways to get involved in our children's lives at school. Your time and talent are always appreciated and can make a significant difference.
