Next weekend, Sept. 7-8, we’re starting a new homily series called “Quiet Courage,” all about how in our ordinary, daily lives we need courage, Jesus shows us courage, and Jesus gives us courage. It should be a great one for people seeking God and the strength he gives, so I hope you’ll invite someone you know to join us for Mass. We’ll also have fellowship after our Masses and the Fishpot Creek Bluegrass Band helping us praise God at the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Sept. 7.
With bittersweet feelings I have a major change to announce in regards to our parish staff. Stephanie Wobbe, our wonderful communication manager, has decided that she’ll be pursuing new opportunities in her career. Stephanie has been a huge gift to our parish, so if you see her, let her know how grateful we are for her years of service. I’m excited to see what comes next for Stephanie, but I will miss very much having her in the parish office. Thankfully, Stephanie has graciously agreed to stay with us for a while to help us have a smoother transition to our new communication team.
We’ve had a lot of great candidates apply for our new editorial assistant position, and we hope to hire for that position soon. We’ll also are looking to hire a new communication manager. If you know anyone who would be a great candidate, send them to me! As we go through this transition in our communication team, we’ll need everyone to help us. So, effective immediately, our new deadline for submissions to our bulletin and our Weekly Update is 8 a.m. each Monday for the following weekend’s publications.
