A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Fall Festival, our Rummage Sale, and our Serve Together event at Saint Anthony of Padua in Dutchtown a big success! This weekend after the 10 am Mass we have a meet and greet at IHM church for the start of classes for all adults and high school students interested in becoming Catholic or receiving a sacrament for the first time. If that intrigues you, come on by!
I am very excited to announce that we have hired our new communication team. Kate Mattoon has accepted the role of Communication Manager. She’ll start on Monday October 7, 2024; we’ll have a feature in the bulletin letting her introduce herself to the community soon. Kate’s focus will be helping parishioners invite people to church, helping people seeking a faith community find our church, and helping everyone here find their next discipleship step. Towards those ends, Kate will help us expand SSP’s online presence. I’ve been impressed by her work supporting the community at the Church of the Magdalene as a volunteer and part-time employee, and I’m grateful she accepted a full-time role with our parish.
Maggie Moody has accepted the role of Editorial Assistant. She started last Monday, September 23, 2024. She’s our first 100% remote staff member, and I’m so grateful she is on our team. Maggie’s focus will be producing our weekly bulletin and our weekly Flocknote update. I’m looking forward to seeing Maggie continue the excellence which Stephanie Wobbe brought week after week to these publications. Please help Maggie in her new role by following our new bulletin submission deadline: items for the coming weekend’s bulletins need to be submitted by Monday 8:00 am. Check out Maggie’s introduction in this week’s bulletin!
Please pray for our dedicated staff, especially Kate and Maggie, and for our parish! God bless you!
