We celebrated All Souls Day on November 2. Every year here at SSP we have a special Mass to remember all those parishioners who died in the past year.
Part of this remembrance is displaying the Book of Remembrance. In this book we list all those parishioners who died during the previous year. In addition we invite you to list anyone you know or love who died the past year. They do not have to be parishioners. Once their name is inscribed in the book it remains there. You can find names inscribed in our current book from decades ago.
The origins of the book are thought to be from Malachi 3:16. Some sources say that the book was to remember those who died in war. It is a celebration of the lives of those who have gone before us.
