Many people forget that Easter is not just one single day but rather a season of fifty days. We celebrate every day of this season as Easter day, and Alleluia is our song. These fifty days remind us to feast on the joy and hope of Christ's resurrection. Our Gospel stories are of Jesus's resurrection appearances and about discipleship.
In addition to these stories of the risen Christ, we also hear about the life of the early Church from the book of the Acts of the Apostles during these fifty days of Easter. (Excerpts from Acts are used as the first reading instead of readings from the Old Testament.)
