Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Welcome to the conclusion of the 2021-22 school year. We enjoyed celebrating our final day beginning with an All School Mass. It was awesome to celebrate the Liturgy with parents and the newest SSP alumni; members of the Class of 2022. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to people who have been interwoven in the SSP community: Ms. Emily Feldman, Paula Graef, Mrs. Theresa Lueke, Ms. Peggy Martin, and Sr. Diane Schlueter. You will be missed!
We give thanks for all the hard work of the many organizations that have supported the school all year, especially the Holy Name Society, the Parish Board of Education, and the PTO. Thank you to the leadership of Ted Hartzler, Tom Esswein, and Jill Pace. You made a difference! We are filling some of the membership voids, but the PTO is still in need of the following positions: President-Elect, Treasurer, and Home & School. Interested people should reach out to the new PTO president, Kathy Warren, via email: [email protected]
Thank you to the Holy Name Society, PTO, and the SSP Golf Tournament for sponsoring $1000 scholarships for some very worthy Class of 2022 students: Danait Hagos, Oliver Manalang, Catherine Quinn, and Elsa Yezbick.
Finally, I’d like to conclude the Final Notes of the 2021-22 school year with an END OF YEAR SCHOOL PRAYER
O God of all beginnings and endings, we praise and thank you for the gift of this school year.
It has been a time filled with grace and blessings, challenges and opportunities, joys and sorrows.
The days have passed quickly, O Lord. The weeks, the months, the seasons, the holidays, the holy days, the exams, vacations, breaks, and assemblies, all have come forth from your hand.
While we trust that your purposes have always been at work each day, sometimes it has seemed difficult to understand and appreciate just what you have been up to in our school.
Give us the rest and refreshment we need this summer. Let our efforts of this past year bear fruit.
Bring all of our plans to a joyful conclusion, and bless us, according to your will, with the fulfillment of our summer hopes and dreams. Watch over us in the weeks of rest ahead,
And guide each day as you have done this past year. Help us return to school with a new spirit and new energy.
May we continue to grow in age, wisdom, knowledge, and grace all the days of our lives. Amen.
Stay SSP Strong and God's Peace,
D. Greg Sturgill
