I was focusing on a particular phrase today, “when one door closes, another one opens…”. Many of us stop at the opening line; in many phrases, sometimes we miss the remainder of the quote, which can also be impactful, such as… “but we often look so long and regretfully at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us (Alexander Graham Bell). In this case, I was looking at one quarantine ending for one grade level and another one beginning for another grade level. That isn’t the traditional door of opportunity opening, or is it?
Our children are taking the time to get well, they are cared for, virtual learning (instruction) is available for them. I know this can be frustrating. I hear the stress in the voices of parents and I can see it in your eyes. Because of your parent cooperation and everyone working together, we are keeping each other SSP Strong. Thank you!
Earlier today, I sent home a notification that Sr. Diane will begin working with our students with the Safetouch program (one class per grade level). She will begin classes the first week of November right after Parent-Teacher Conferences. Contact me if you will have your child opt-out of the Safetouch program (we will have resources for home education).
One of our 3rd-grade students reminded me today that October is the month devoted to Mary and that we should start saying the rosary over the PA. I’m not going to give you a spoiler alert, but that student is a future SSP STAR (next week). We ask that students bring their rosaries for an end-of-the-school day decade of the rosary until the end of the month.
Good luck to all participating in the Virtual Trivia Night tomorrow!
