Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday, Happy Pi Day, Happy STL Day for us who live in the 314 area code, and at the close of business today, Happy Spring Break!!
In less than two hours, Spring Break begins for our students… There will be a Noon Dismissal. Please be punctual; the staff and I have a very tight yet full schedule before we embark on Spring Break. Please allow the teachers to step back, relax, recharge, and return reinvigorated to finish this school year strongly. If there is an emergency, our friends at the Rectory (314) 481-1133 know how to contact us. In the last couple of years, I have successfully unplugged during break; you should try this for a few days - it’s a game changer! Thank you in advance.
The Church will celebrate two major saint feast days in the coming days: St. Patrick's and St. Joseph's. I’ve included a couple of prayers and links to additional prayers attributed to these saints.
St . Patrick’s Blessings…
“May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.”
“May green be the grass you walk on, may blue be the skies above you, may pure be the joys that surround you, may true be the hearts that love you.”
“May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you’re going, and the insight to know when you’re going too far.”
“May peace and plenty be the first to lift the latch to your door and Happiness be your guest today and evermore.”

During SSP's spring break, St. Joseph's Feast Day will also be celebrated. Here is a prayer and link to other prayers to St. Joseph: Prayers to St. Joseph - Catholic Faith and Reason
Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls - Pray for Me.
Today officially concludes the third quarter. When we return from break, we will have a lot of living to do—one step at a time, one day at a time! For now, kick your shoes off and live in the moment. Classes Resume on Monday, March 24th. Until then,
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
