Dear parents, teachers, alumni, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend!
I just had the honor of leading the Station of the Cross this afternoon with the help of our talented 5th graders.
Thank you to the servers: Evan, Sebastian, and Archie!
Thank you to readers: Oscar, Sean, and John.
Thank you to our music leader, Doc Borgmeyer.
The last time I wore a server's cassock, I did not have facial hair. Today's experience was auspicious, as when I was a 10-13-year-old altar server. Hearing the students and teachers pray and sing amplified the moment and brought out the goose bumps!
I may have jumped the calendar with the Palm Sunday and Holy Week graphics. This holy time in our Church season will be here in a heartbeat. I did get the Second Grade Blessing of the Crosses this Sunday at SSP Church, correct though. Thank you to Mrs. Minor, who is preparing our students for the sacrament of the Eucharist (First Communion is the second of the three sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church).
We hope to see you on Sunday. Until then, have a great weekend and stay dry!
