Dear parents, teachers, and friends of SSP School,
Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! A special shout out to all of our mothers at SSP and in our lives. I hope you have a special day ahead of you on Sunday!
Thank you to everyone who made Field Day a special day. I was impressed with our organizers (Mrs. Quinn, Mrs. Lueke, and Ms. Martin), who had their rain contingency plan in hand and ready to go today. Mr. Mike Dauphin stuck his head in the office and congratulated us on making lemonade! It was an awesome day. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who made it run smoothly. We had multiple cohorts mixed in multiple spaces today; we made this a rare situational masking day! Our community was awesome in this request. The Music Sharing Day (during the performance only) will be another situational masking next Thursday.
Congratulations to Catherine Quinn, who was notified on Wednesday that she was the final recipient of the Darrik S. Sabada Memorial Scholarship!
It is bittersweet to report the following news to you. We will have some staffing positions to fill for the 2022-23 school year. These teachers have informed their homerooms, and the Board of Education was notified on Wednesday. Open positions for the 2022-23 school year will be 5th Grade homeroom, Kindergarten homeroom (and a Kindergarten aide), and a part-time Physical Education position. Mrs. Theresa Lueke will be the next Assistant Principal at St. Margaret of Scotland School. Ms. Sue Kriegshauser will be with us part-time next year in reviving the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for PreK—Grade 2 students. Ms. Peggy Martin will scale back her time to St. Frances Cabrini only. We wish all of them the very best in their next stages of life. We hope to send them off properly at the end of this current school year. If you know of anyone interested in any of these positions, please encourage them to get in touch with me.
Have a great weekend, and God’s Peace …
