Please pray for Carolyn Iovanna, the wife of Deacon Joe, and her family. She has been diagnosed with an inoperable late stage brain cancer. Deacon Joe will be stepping back from his duties here at Saint Stephen Protomartyr to focus on caring for her, and Deacon Dana will be taking over Deacon Joe’s work to help families baptize their babies. Saint Peregrine, pray for her! 

      Consider joining us for our 9am Thanksgiving Mass this Thursday at SSP church. It’s a great way to honor the spirit of the day. In the Mass, we join our thanksgiving to Jesus’ own thanksgiving to the Father. If you are looking for a good way to pray on Thanksgiving, here are two ideas. First, you could read Jesus’ beautiful prayer of thanksgiving in John Chapter 17. Second, you could make a list of 30 things for which you are grateful. I love this exercise because trying to get to 30 makes us go beyond the easy answers so we notice more of God’s gifts.
