It’s time to form our Saint Stephen Protomartyr Pastoral Council (also known as parish council). The input of our Winter Transition Survey, Transition Team, parish staff, and David Baranowski at the Archdiocese of St. Louis helped me write our Pastoral Council guidelines. You can read them at this link.
We’ll choose six members of our Pastoral Council by an election in May and I’ll select by my personal discernment up to three more. We would love to have you nominate someone who might serve well in this role, yourself or someone else. Members of our Pastoral Council should be Catholic, adults 18 years or older, regularly attending weekend Mass at Saint Stephen Protomartyr, participating in the good works of the parish by tithing, participating in a small faith group, and/or serving others through parish ministry. Nominations are due by March 9, 2025. To nominate someone, usethis link, or use the form in the vestibule of our churches this weekend or next.
My plan is to have the first meeting of the Pastoral Council in July. Our Transition Team has helped me in so many ways by their wise advice, and I hope the Pastoral Council will continue that good work in the years ahead. If QR codes are difficult for you, we have paper copies of the guidelines and the nomination forms available in the vestibule. Please pray for us, and God bless you!
