Thank you all for helping us throw another successful picnic! We’ll share final fundraising numbers soon, but a few wins to share now:
A 70-year-old tradition at St. John the Baptist — the String Pull game — made its debut at St. Stephen’s Picnic! Did you find the smiley face?
Chuck Wagon almost completely sold out! How about those South City pork steaks? We caught up with the Bernstetters enjoying their pork steaks on the church steps.
We sold more ride bracelets and tickets then ever before! How cool that they squeezed in a ninth ride this year?
We sold more game tickets than we were prepared for! Congrats to alumnus Henry Borgmeyer and Bella Rea — the overall Hoop It Up winners! Fun fact: Hoop It Up is SSP’s current longest-running game.
Chicken Dinners sold out! Thank you, Chiereks, for keeping the tradition alive and to our Immaculate Heart of Mary volunteers who joined us to serve meals and clean up. We loved the beautiful hydrangeas in the Parish Hall dining area.
And most importantly— thank you to our kids for representing SSP and our Christian values! The ride-company owner just wrapped up five carnivals in one week, and she said our kids were the most polite and well-mannered of all of their carnivals this month.
Thank you all,
Colleen & Rich Nigro
