I am Fr. Tim Foley, the new retired priest for St. Stephen Parish.
I grew up at Holy Innocents Parish on Kingshighway, which is no longer a Catholic Church. I am the oldest of five boys, with only one brother still living. I have lots of cousins, nephews, and nieces.
I have served at 14 parishes in my 59 years as a priest in the Archdiocese. I am coming to you from St. James the Greater and Epiphany parishes. I celebrate Mass every Sunday at Mercy South Hospital, where I also minister one day a week when the full-time priest has a day off.
I will be living at St. John the Baptist. My ministry will be the Eucharist, confessions, visiting the sick and shut-ins, and the normal pastoral ministry, which will develop as time goes on.
I have been a member of a priest group for 50 years, and we meet once a month. I also get away for an overnight at the Hermitage in Pevely, Mo., several times a year. I visit my brother and his family in Rolla every so often and my sister-in-law in Barnhart.
I have no hobbies except for collecting works of art, which I can now hang in the rectory. I love SLU Billiken basketball. My exercise is walking the neighborhood, so you might see me sometimes.
I am very happy to be at St. Stephen and look forward to meeting you soon.
