I began working at St. Stephen in 1991, when our current kindergarten teacher was wearing a red plaid SSP jumper and the Wobbe girls who work in preschool and aftercare were still in God's pocket! :) I am currently the 1st grade teacher and teach religion and sacrament prep to the 2nd grade. I am also a committee member of our National Junior Honor Society.
I attended grade school at St. Simon the Apostle, high school at Notre Dame (go, Rebels!), and the University of Missouri-St. Louis for undergraduate and graduate degrees in early childhood and elementary education.
When I am not working I like to spend time outdoors (sun or snow!) walking, hiking, gardening, working on projects, or just taking it all in. It's all good when I'm outside. :) I also enjoy baking and cooking (old favorites and trying new recipes), watching Adam (a.k.a. Waino) pitch, and -- since free time is precious -- spending time with the special people God put in my life.
I'm blessed and grateful to be a part of our special SSP community! It's a special place because of so many special people.
Favorite book: Too many to choose from! I could NEVER choose just one.
Favorite movie:Field of Dreams (it's about so much more than baseball), Pride & Prejudice (a classic love story -- I'm sappy -- plus, you have to love that Lizzy!), with Guess Who's Coming to Dinner as a close second (third??)
Favorite song: I'll go with "Have It All," by Jason Mraz
